September 2023

HSBC has appointed Warwick Long as CEO of its Channel Islands and Isle of Man business and HSBC Expat, which is headquartered in Jersey.

Warwick joined HSBC 39 years ago, initially working in Wealth and Personal Banking (WPB), and more recently Commercial Banking (CMB). In his most recent role he was Head of CMB, UK Non-Ring-Fenced Bank and International Europe, while prior to that he was Head of CMB, Channel Islands and Isle of Man for four and a half years. His experience has also seen him drive wider transformation within the CMB business across a number of HSBC’s markets, as well as leading the UK Commercial Banking Financial Institution business, and establishing our Innovation Bank in Israel.

Warwick takes over the role from Emma Bunnell.

Colin Bell, CEO, HSBC Europe, said:

“The Channel Islands and Isle of Man remain a strategically important element of our business both within Europe and the Group, with its international connectivity and wealth focus playing major roles in the bank’s Europe and global strategy. We wish Warwick every success in his new role.”

Commenting on his appointment, Warwick added:

“Having worked closely with the local community in previous positions, I’m looking forward to returning in this new role, to work alongside the very talented team we have across the islands. Our shared focus is on growing this strategically important part of HSBC’s business and supporting both our local and international - personal and commercial banking customers. In particular, we remain committed to playing a leading role in digital banking, wealth management and supporting multinational corporates.”
